Madre's bio:
Hi, My name is Madre, it means Mother in spanish. I will explain. I was sent to a slaughter house cause nobody wanted me anymore. I was frail, skeletal, very sick and very pregnant! I was three minutes away from slaughter, when my foal decided she wanted to come into the world...I gave birth right there on the line. A killer seller decided to buy me and my foal off the line, fatten us up and sell us for slaughter again. Barely able to climb into the trailer, we started our hot, dusty ride home. My foal was sucking the little life I had left in me and I could barely stand from fatigue.
A kind couple found out about our story and they came out and paid good money to buy us (yup, that's right, she bought me and my foal) to keep us from slaughter. They took us to a wonderful home, but I didn't trust anyone anymore
.
The lady (her name was Danielle) would come in my stall daily and try to touch me, talk to me and love me, but I bit her a couple times...I thought she was going to do mean things like all the others. She never gave up on me, even though I tried to take off her fingers. One day it dawned on me, I really think this lady cares about me, so I stopped biting, kicking and fighting. To this day they have not given up on me. I actually like going to them for my daily love.
Now I am in training with an awesome trainer named Dee. She is teaching me to be calm, obedient and how to ride, so I can someday carry kids. She is doing a great job and I can't wait for my first real ride!
Check out my little girl, her name is Miracle.
